Caelin Smith, OMS III, is pursuing her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Liberty University College of Osteopathic Medicine (LUCOM) in Campbell County, Va., where she is a small group anatomy tutor and was the student government president (2022-23). She is also a medical scribe for Scribe.ology at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center and a Sunday school teacher.

She previously worked as a community leader at Baylor University where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Medical Humanities in 2019. While at Baylor, she led discussions on diversity, leadership, faith and academic excellence.

Student Dr. Smith’s research projects have included the effects of stress on performance, the use of mast cells as a novel treatment for solid tumors and Clara Barton’s contributions to medicine. In 2022, she was named Student DO of the Year by LUCOM faculty and received the Class MVP and Servant Leader awards from her peers.
