Advancing the Profession

Commemorating graduates of residency programs with Osteopathic Recognition

Celebrating excellence in osteopathic medicine and commitment to incorporating osteopathic principles and practice into patient care.

The AOA Distinction of Advanced Osteopathic Training is a recognition honoring physicians who graduate from a program with ACGME Osteopathic Recognition. This distinction recognizes physician’s excellence in osteopathic medicine and their commitment to incorporating Osteopathic Principles and Practice (OPP) into patient care.

The Distinction of Advanced Osteopathic Training is exclusively and only available to the designated osteopathic residents and fellows who complete the educational requirements of Osteopathic Recognition as verified by their program’s Director of Osteopathic Education.

To date, the AOA has conferred the Distinction of Advanced Osteopathic Training to over 6,500 individuals!

Osteopathic Recognition Graduates

The AOA will distribute Distinction of Advanced Osteopathic Training certificates to programs with ACGME Osteopathic Recognition for each designated osteopathic resident/fellow to distribute during graduation. The AOA will also email a copy of the electronic certificates.
