National Osteopathic Medicine Week

Show the world you are #DOProud by celebrating the unique approach DOs bring to health care

NOM Week 2025 will take place April 14-20, 2025!

National Osteopathic Medicine (NOM) Week is an annual observance recognizing nearly 200,000 osteopathic physicians (DOs) and medical students who bring a distinctive whole-person philosophy to caring for millions of patients across the nation. Within the profession, NOM Week celebrates the momentous contributions of osteopathic medicine within the broader health care landscape. In addition, the week-long observance will provide opportunities to increase awareness and understanding of the profession among consumers and the public.

Held each year during the second week of April, NOM Week commemorates the date in 1897 when the American Osteopathic Association, then known as the American Association for the Advancement of Osteopathy, was founded in Kirksville, Missouri. Since that time, the osteopathic profession has grown to include more than 157,000 DOs and nearly 40,000 medical students across the nation.

Adding to our observance of NOM Week this year,  we continue our year-long celebration of 150 years of osteopathic medicine.
