Mara Krutsinger, OMS IV

Mara Krutsinger, OMS IV, is an osteopathic medical student at the Idaho College of Osteopathic Medicine (ICOM), where she will earn her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree in May 2027. She serves as the student member of the AOA’s Board of Trustees for 2026-2027, acting as a liaison between the AOA and student organizations including the Student Osteopathic Medical Association (SOMA) and the Council of Osteopathic Student Government Presidents (COSGP). She also serves as Vice Chair of the AOA’s Bureau of Emerging Leaders.
Krutsinger has centered her student leadership on advocacy and health policy. She served as National Secretary of SOMA and as a student trustee and seated delegate for the Idaho Osteopathic Physicians Association. She interned with the government relations branch of the American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine (AACOM) and, through Omega Beta Iota and the Osteopathic Political Action Committee (OPAC), completed a research project on how federal student loan caps affect students at Idaho’s only medical school and the state’s rural physician workforce. She presented that work at DO Day in Washington, D.C.
Her honors include the OPAC Student Engagement Scholarship, election to the Gold Humanism Honor Society, ICOM’s Professionalism Award and SOMA’s award for excellence in political advocacy. Before medical school, Krutsinger earned a Bachelor of Arts in chemistry from Smith College and worked as an EMT in Colorado and Maine.
