Palmer Ford, OMS IV, is a fourth-year osteopathic medical student at Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine-Auburn (VCOM-Auburn), where he served as the Student Osteopathic Medical Association (SOMA) class president. He was also the professional development director for National SOMA and recently contributed to the SOMA Political Affairs Task Force. Currently, he holds the position of Student Member on the AOA Board of Trustees, and is actively pursuing a residency in internal medicine, with a strong interest in specializing in hematology/oncology.

Before attending medical school, Student Doctor Ford earned a bachelor’s degree in biomedical sciences from the University of Alabama in Huntsville, where he also played baseball. His academic and athletic achievements earned him the CoSIDA Academic All-American title for two consecutive years, recognizing his excellence both on the field and in the classroom. In his final season, Student Doctor Ford’s leadership was acknowledged by his teammates, who elected him as team captain.

Throughout medical school, Student Doctor Ford has consistently embraced leadership and advocacy roles whenever opportunities arose. His dedication has been recognized through his induction into the Omega Beta Iota Honor Society, the Gold Humanism Honor Society and the Sigma Sigma Phi Honor Society. He is also an active member of the Alabama Osteopathic Medical Association.
