Shannon C. Scott, DO, of Phoenix, is an assistant clinical professor of family and osteopathic manipulative medicine at the Midwestern University Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine (MWU/AZCOM) in Glendale.

Previously Dr. Scott served on the AOA Board of Trustees as its first New Physician in Practice board member. An avid supporter of the osteopathic medical profession, Dr. Scott is past president of the Arizona Osteopathic Medical Association and a member of the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians. In 2016, she received the AOA’s Strategic Team Award and Recognition, known as STAR, which recognizes contributions made by state and specialty affiliates, osteopathic medical schools and nonpractice affiliates that enhance the culture of osteopathic medicine.

Upon receiving her degree in osteopathic medicine from MWU/AZCOM in 2004, Dr. Scott completed postdoctoral training at what is now the HonorHealth Scottsdale (Arizona) Shea Medical Center where she was awarded the Outstanding Intern of the Year Award in 2005. She also received the Brazie Award in 2006 from the Arizona Academy of Family Physicians for her achievements and dedication in her postdoctoral training.
