Duane G. Koehler, DO, FACOFP dist., is an AOA board-certified physician in Osteopathic Family Medicine, currently practicing at the Cherokee Nation Vinita Health Center in Vinita, Oklahoma. Previously, he was the assistant to the Dean for Rural Health at the Center for Rural Health at Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine (OSUHSC-COM) in Tulsa. Dr. Koehler first joined OSUHSC in 1998 as adjunct clinical faculty, where he also earned his medical degree.

He previously practiced emergency medicine at Freeman Health System in Joplin Mo. in a part-time role for nearly 18 years. In addition, he was a family practice physician at INTEGRIS Baptist Medical Center for 20 years and a Family Medicine Preceptor at OSUHSC in Miami, Oklahoma, providing office-based instruction to third- and fourth-year medical students for 14 years.

A past-president and Distinguished Fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians (ACOFP) since 2018, Dr. Koehler recently served on the ACOFP Board of Governors and has helped establish national healthcare policy and training standards for osteopathic family medicine. He is also a past president of the Oklahoma Osteopathic Association and the Northeast district of the Oklahoma Osteopathic Association Society.

Dr. Koehler has been a Delegate-at-Large for the AOA House of Delegates (HOD) since 2011. He has served on various AOA committees, including the HOD Credentials Committee and other reference committees.
