Join us for a celebration of the 100th anniversary of the birthday of Viola M. Frymann, DO, FAAO, FCA. This occasion also marks the publication of The Collected Papers of Viola M. Frymann, DO. Volume 2: Legacy to Osteopathy.
This free, open to all, virtual event is sponsored by Osteopathy’s Promise to Children (OPC) and the Osteopathic Center for Children (OCC). The program will include a virtual tour of the Osteopathic Center San Diego which houses OPC/OCC, and a look at the lighter side of Dr. Frymann and the skits she often put on as part of her Basic Course in Osteopathy in the Cranial Field.
We just finished the 2021 Osteopathic Cranial Academy Conference devoted to the work of Dr. Frymann and cranial research. Highlights of that Conference will also be shared.
This event will also be a launch for her just published Volume 2 of Collected Papers. This second volume contains never before published writings of Dr. Frymann. She presents explications of core osteopathic philosophy on topics like “Mind, Matter and Motion,” “Potency,” and “Respiration,” as well as content typically presented during her Basic and Intermediate Courses on “Other Dimensions of Healing.”
We believe that the combination of Volume 1 and Volume 2 of her Collected Papers constitute a body of writing second only to Andrew Taylor Still on core principles of Osteopathy. In addition, her work in Pediatric Osteopathy and teaching of the Cranial Concept are useful resources for any courses presented on these topics.
