ATSU-KCOM 2025 Big Cedar Pre-Conference: Dermatology Hands-on Workshop

Physicians will have the opportunity to engage one-on-one with board-certified experts, receiving personalized assessments of their skills. This tailored guidance will support improved performance in managing commonly encountered basal cell carcinomas and other conditions requiring excisional biopsies within the scope of primary care practice.

Educational objectives

After attending this course participants will be able to:

  • Review basic morphology and the development of differential diagnosis
  • Identify how to choose the correct biopsy technique for various dermatological conditions
  • Perform various biopsy technique including a shave, punch and excisional biopsy
  • Describe and demonstrate multiple suture techniques including a simple interrupted and running suture
  • Demonstrate and apply knowledge of accepted standards of clinical medicine in the respective area regarding dermatology practices, and remain current with new developments in medicine and participate in life-long learning activities
