Evaluating Breast Calcifications

On-Demand

Breast calcifications are difficult and complex diagnostic challenges. They are more difficult to detect, analyze, and biopsy than most other mammographic abnormalities. General radiologists may have difficulty differentiating typically benign versus indeterminate/suspicious calcifications. That results in high false positive rates, unnecessary biopsies, and higher health care costs.

Attendees should have improved ability to diagnose patients based upon evidence from recently released research findings in the area of breast cancer. In addition, they will become familiar with American College of Radiology BI-RADS lexicon regarding breast calcifications seen on mammogram.
