All Things Pancreas: Tips and Tricks to Nailing the Diagnosis and More

This lecture will provide tips and tricks for the practicing radiologist to delineate the multiple subtle differences in the imaging appearance of a wide range of pancreas pathology. Upon completion, learners will be more confident in their diagnosis for all things pancreas.

  • Utilizing secondary signs to make the early diagnosis of pancreatic masses.
  • Understanding Field defect theory for pancreatic cancer and IPMNs.
  • Understanding key imaging features for autoimmune pancreatitis as well as secondary sites of disease in IgG4 related disease.
  • Acute pancreatitis confined to the body/tail is abnormal and needs explaining.
  • Tips/tricks in differentiating paraduodenal (groove) pancreatitis from pancreatic adenocarcinoma.
  • Differentiating chronic pancreatitis and pancreatic adenocarcinoma.
  • How to stage accurately pancreatic cancer.
