Accreditation decisions for colleges of osteopathic medicine – August 2025

CHICAGO–The American Osteopathic Association’s Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation (COCA) announced accreditation decisions at its Aug. 28-29, 2025, meeting.

The COCA is recognized by the United States Department of Education as the accreditor of colleges of osteopathic medicine. Accreditation from the COCA signifies that a college has met or exceeded the Commission’s standards for educational quality. The following information is provided pursuant to 34 CFR §602.26:

  • D’Youville University College of Osteopathic Medicine (Buffalo, New York)
    Granted pre-accreditation status
  • William Carey University College of Osteopathic Medicine (Hattiesburg, Mississippi)
    Granted accreditation status with its next accreditation review in academic year 2034–35
  • Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine (Blacksburg, Virginia; Auburn, Alabama; Spartanburg, South Carolina; and Monroe, Louisiana)
    Granted accreditation status with its next accreditation review in academic year 2034–35
