Sarah Lohbauer, DO, MS

Sara Lohbauer, DO, MS, is a north central Florida native who grew up immersed in the world of Arabian horses. Her journey in the horse world began at the age of two, and over the years, she has established herself as a nationally recognized equestrian in the Arabian horse community. Dr. Lohbauer is a six-time United States National Champion and a four-time Reserve National Champion, accolades that reflect her dedication to the sport. Her passion for horses continues to run in the family, as her two young daughters are already following in her footsteps, demonstrating a shared enthusiasm for the Arabian breed.

Beyond her equestrian success, Dr. Lohbauer is a dedicated osteopathic physician, emphasizing holistic, patient-centered care. A 2021 graduate of Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM), she was an active leader during her medical studies, serving in roles such as the national parliamentarian for the Council of Osteopathic Student Government and as a board of trustees student member to the Florida Osteopathic Medical Association (FOMA).

Dr. Lohbauer completed her family medicine residency in Gainesville, Florida, where she was recognized for her leadership and clinical skills, ultimately serving as the chief resident of her program. In addition to her responsibilities as chief resident, Dr. Lohbauer was also a representative on the AOA Board of Trustees as the postdoctoral trainee advisor, where she helped to advocate for the interests of residents and early-career physicians.

Her commitment to the osteopathic profession extends beyond her clinical work. AOA board-certified in family medicine, Dr. Lohbauer has been an active member of the Bureau of Emerging Leaders (BEL) for five years, helping to shape the future of osteopathic education and leadership development.

Now, as a practice family medicine physician and core faculty member at her previous residency program, she continues to teach and mentor the next generation of physicians.
