Statement attributable to AOA President Ernest R. Gelb, DO, and AOA Interim CEO Kathleen S. Creason:

The American Osteopathic Association extends our deepest sympathies to the victims, students, faculty and families affected by the mass shooting that occurred this week on the campus of Michigan State University, which is home to the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Alongside the rest of the nation, we grieve those who lost their lives in this tragic act of violence, and we pray for the full recovery of those who were wounded. We are deeply grateful for the physicians and other medical professionals who provided frontline care, and stand in support of all members of the MSU community as they face the long-term impact of this traumatic event.
