AOA statement on Tulsa medical center shooting

By AOA Staff

06.03.22

The following statement is attributable to AOA President Joseph A. Giaimo, DO, and AOA CEO Kevin M. Klauer, DO, EJD:

The news of the Tulsa shooting and death of four people on the campus of Saint Francis Health System was shocking and hit our medical community very hard. To the families of Stephanie J. Husen, DO; Preston Phillips, MD; Amanda Glenn, and William Love, there are no words that would do justice to this sudden, horrific, and senseless act of violence. The American Osteopathic Association and the entire osteopathic profession stand beside you and grieve with you.

The medical profession has been through so much in recent times. We have survived and persevered. We will continue to care for our patients and embrace the oath we took as osteopathic physicians. Although our hearts are heavy and our hands are weary, we will continue our service to others and never forget those who we have lost while in the line of duty.
