Mansi Vadodaria, DO, OMED 2021
OMED 2021 has been an engaging and exciting virtual weekend that was filled with lectures of diverse topics, fun interactive scavenger hunts, a medical resident focused series of lectures, and thought-provoking and tear-jerking opening speakers. As a recipient of the BEL OMED scholarship, I was fortunate to be a part of OMED 2021 as it provided me with the resources and knowledge to continue growing in my journey as an osteopathic physician. I look forward to my future opportunities to attend OMED!
Janak Patel, DO, OMED 2021
As a PGY1 in Internal Medicine Residency I was awarded the opportunity to be a recipient of the BEL OMED scholarship program. I am extremely grateful for this opportunity as it allowed me to connect to my peers in the field of Osteopathic Medicine. Furthermore, I was provided guidance prior to OMED and this augmented my overall experience at my first OMED. It is more hope that future recipients gain a similar experience and opportunity.
Kayle Noble-Taylor, DO, OMED 2020
“OMED 2020 was an engaging and collaborative virtual experience with a broad range of lectures from different specialties presented by leading experts in the field and a fantastic resident-specific track. OMED provides a great opportunity to connect with leaders in osteopathic medicine. The Bureau of Emerging Leaders Scholarship made it possible for me to attend this year’s conference. I am so grateful for the opportunity and experience and hope to participate in-person in the future.”
Amy Trinh, DO, OMED 2020
“OMED was the first medical conference I’ve ever attended, and I was a little wary of cost. However, I found out that this scholarship was being offered, I applied, and I got it! OMED was a very worthwhile experience. The lectures were of excellent quality, covering a wide expanse of topics and specialties. I especially appreciated the updated information and guidelines provided throughout the sessions- I was able to catch up on the most current recommendations across multiple specialties in just a single weekend!!”
David Issever, DO, OMED 2019
“Having never been at OMED prior to this year, I must say that I was impressed by the breadth of osteopathic medicine. DOs do so much! Every specialty in the field was present and the opportunity to speak and interact with AOA leadership was a particular honor. My number one takeaway from OMED was that the AOA leadership listen to us and care about the needs and concerns we young osteopathic physicians face going forward in our careers. I’m also appreciative of the opportunity to connect with important figures/mentors in many different specialties. The networking connections are invaluable and provided an organic way of meeting. One can expect to find more lectures and talks then one has time for. As a BEL scholarship recipient, I had more exclusive time to converse with members in AOA leadership.”
Gretchen E. Maurer, DO, OMED 2018
“OMED 2018 was an engaging and collaborative conference to network with fellow DOs in practice. The OMED program encompassed various TED-style talks with perspectives on a broad range of topics from different specialties and disciplines in medicine. The environment was warm and welcoming, inspiring curiosity and discussion, and of course, hands-on OMT modalities. OMED is a great opportunity to make connections with fellow alumni and leaders in osteopathic medicine, as well as inspire the next generation of enthusiastic osteopathic physicians. I remain most grateful to the Bureau of Emerging Leaders for allowing participation in the 2018 BEL OMED Scholarship Program; the experience re-ignited my passion to make progressive changes in medicine while promoting the tenets of osteopathic medicine in practice.”
