CY2026 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule proposed rule released

By AOA Staff

07.16.25

On July 14, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) released the proposed CY2026 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule (MPFS) and Quality Payment Program (QPP) rule, outlining updates that will directly affect your practice and the future of osteopathic medicine.

To keep you informed and engaged, the AOA has completed an initial analysis of the proposed rule, which highlights key impacts on physician payment, practice expense methodology, alternative payment models, telehealth services and more.

The AOA is actively advocating on your behalf to ensure that the osteopathic voice is heard on Capitol Hill and that your work is appropriately valued in Medicare policy. Our advocacy helped secure a 2.5% statutory increase to the 2026 conversion factor.

We will continue to engage with CMS and submit formal comments ahead of the Sept. 14 deadline. We invite you to join us for a deeper dive during our upcoming Osteopathic Advocacy Network (OAN) Public Policy Roundtable, where we will host a detailed webinar on the proposed rule.
