Accreditation decisions for colleges of osteopathic medicine, April 2024

CHICAGO–The American Osteopathic Association’s Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation (COCA) today announced accreditation decisions made at its April 12-13, 2024, meeting.

  • Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine – granted status of accreditation with exceptional outcome
  • Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine – granted status of accreditation with exceptional outcome
  • Campbell University Jerry M. Wallace School of Osteopathic Medicine – granted status of accreditation with exceptional outcome
  • Marian University College of Osteopathic Medicine – granted stats of accreditation

At its meeting on April 4, 2024, the COCA Executive Committee reviewed documentation submitted following decisions deferred from the Dec. 2023 COCA meeting pending submission of additional information. The following accreditation decisions were made at the Executive Committee meeting:

  • California Health Sciences University College of Osteopathic Medicine – granted status of accreditation
  • Sam Houston State University College of Osteopathic Medicine – granted status accreditation with exceptional outcome

The COCA is recognized by the United States Department of Education as the accreditor of colleges of osteopathic medicine. Accreditation from the COCA signifies that a college has met or exceeded the Commission’s standards for educational quality.
