The AOA is now accepting applications for open roles on its Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) Editorial Panel and Relative Value Scale Update Committee (RUC) advisory teams. All members with an interest in physician payment issues should apply! The CPT Editorial Panel is charged with maintaining the CPT code set and ensuring that codes remain up to date and reflect the latest medical care provided to patients. The RUC is a multispecialty committee dedicated to describing the resources required to provide physician services which the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) considers in developing Relative Value Units (RVUs) for the physician fee schedule.
