MSUCOM Muscle Energy Technique Part I

August 6, 2027 - August 9, 2027

Muscle Energy Technique Part I is an immersive, four-day course that provides a comprehensive foundation in one of osteopathic manual medicine’s most versatile and effective treatment approaches. Participants will develop the knowledge and hands-on skills necessary to evaluate and treat spinal, pelvic and rib dysfunctions using gentle, patient-directed muscle contractions to restore motion, improve function and reduce pain.

Building upon foundational manual medicine principles, this course explores structural diagnosis, neuromuscular physiology and the biomechanics of the vertebral column and pelvis. Through evidence-informed instruction and extensive hands-on laboratory experience, participants will refine palpatory skills, develop diagnostic confidence and master the application of isometric and isotonic muscle energy techniques in clinical practice.

Throughout the course, faculty will guide participants through supervised laboratory sessions designed to strengthen clinical reasoning and integrate muscle energy techniques into comprehensive osteopathic treatment plans. Participants will leave with practical skills that can be immediately incorporated into the evaluation and management of musculoskeletal dysfunction.
