The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is now accepting applications for several National Health Service Corps (NHSC) Loan Repayment Programs, offering significant student loan relief for qualified healthcare providers who serve in high-need and underserved communities.

Available opportunities include:

  • NHSC Loan Repayment Program: Provides up to $75,000 for primary care providers (and up to $50,000 for non-primary care disciplines) in exchange for a two-year service commitment, with options to extend for additional loan repayment.
  • NHSC Substance Use Disorder Workforce Loan Repayment Program: Offers up to $75,000 for a three-year commitment providing substance use disorder treatment at NHSC-approved facilities.
  • NHSC Rural Community Loan Repayment Program: Awards up to $100,000 for clinicians who commit to three years of service delivering substance use disorder treatment in rural communities.

These programs provide osteopathic physicians and other clinicians an opportunity to reduce student debt while expanding access to care in communities most in need. You can learn more about which program best suits your needs through HRSA’s loan repayment programs comparison chart.
