Edith Waskel, OMS IV
Edith Waskel, OMS IV, is currently the student representative on the American Osteopathic Association Board of Trustees. She is a fourth-year NMM/OMM predoctoral teaching fellow at Western University of Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific in Pomona, California.
She has held two positions within the Student Osteopathic Medical Association since 2017 (National Liaison Officer and National Community Outreach Director), and has also been on SOMA’s Overdose Prevention Task Force and National Resolutions Committee.
At OMED 2019, Waskel was honored as part of the Omega Beta Iota Political Honor Society, which recognizes politically active medical students who demonstrate excellence in health care politics. She also won SOMA’s Excellence in Promoting Osteopathic Medicine award for 2017-18.
Before entering medical school, Waskel completed her undergraduate education at California Baptist University, where she graduated magna cum laude.Back to Leadership
