Summer Symposium 2020

The educational format of the Summer Symposium 2020 is comprised of fifteen clinical topics relevant to primary care physicians that were developed based on outcome surveys, new clinical guidelines, recent public health reports, evidence-based literature and information from our local health department. The following gaps were identified when developing the clinical content for the upcoming activity: Wellness, Ultrasound guided hip injection, sexual health in primary care, controlled substance LARA requirement, Lipid panel discussion, pharmacological treatments for lipid disorders, non-pharmacological treatments for lipid disorders, osteoporosis, testosterone replacement in women, dermatology, immunization updates and preventative medicine.

Objectives: Upon completion of this conference, the participant will be able to: 1) improve the provider's skills in sexual history taking, recognizing high risk individuals for STI's including HIV, and taking educational moments to discuss preventive strategies; and 2) to educate providers and patients the role of supplementation in aiding the treatment and prevention of medical diseases and disorders.
