This three hour CME activity on pain management and safe opioid prescribing is designed for physicians and other health care providers and will cover:

  • Establishing realistic goals for pain management and restoration of function
  • Initiating opioid treatment (IR and ER/LA) safely and judiciously, maximizing efficacy while minimizing risks
  • Monitoring and re-evaluating treatment continuously; discontinuing safely when appropriate

This event is a collaboration between the Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine and the Ohio Osteopathic Association

The program has been approved for one AOA Category 1-A CME credit per hour of attendance. Prescribers who attend the session and take the assessment, which covers the entire U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Blueprint, will be considered RPC/FDA-approved completers.

This program is presented by the American Osteopathic Association in partnership with the Collaborative for REMS Education (CO*RE), supported by an independent educational grant from the ER/LA Opioid Analgesics REMS Program Companies (RPC).
