A CO*RE REMS two hour CME activity on pain management and safe opioid prescribing will take place as part of the American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics Conference in Atlanta, GA. It’s designed for physicians and other health care providers and will cover:

  • Establishing realistic goals for pain management and restoration of function
  • Initiating opioid treatment (IR and ER/LA) safely and judiciously, maximizing efficacy while minimizing risks
  • Monitoring and re-evaluating treatment continuously; discontinuing safely when appropriate

This is a free program which you may attend even if you are not registered to attend the conference. If you’re attending only the CO*RE REMS program, please email the conference organizers.

The CO*RE REMS safe opioid prescribing program has been approved for one AOA Category 1-A CME credit per each hour of attendance. Prescribers who attend the session and take the assessment, which covers the entire U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Blueprint, will be considered RPC/FDA-approved completers. This program is presented by the American Osteopathic Association in partnership with the Collaborative for REMS Education (CO*RE), supported by an independent educational grant from the ER/LA Opioid Analgesics REMS Program Companies (RPC).
