Periodically, the AOA considers updates to its policies. Members of the public are invited to review the proposed policy changes and submit comments.

Proposed changes to AOA policy are posted for a review and public comment period. Here’s a look at items that are currently open for public comment.


BOS posts proposed policy changes for 2019-2021 CME Guide

The Bureau of Osteopathic Specialists (BOS) is accepting public comment for 45 days for the following resolution, which is pending approval of the AOA Board of Trustees. The submitted comments will be shared with the BOS and made available for the Board of Trustees deliberations.

Proposed COCME Resolution - Online CME Requirements

The Council on Osteopathic Continuing Medical Education is accepting public comment for 45 business days for the following resolution, which is pending approval of the AOA Board of Trustees. The submitted comments will be shared with the Bureau of Osteopathic Education and made available for the Board of Trustees deliberations at its February Midyear Meeting.

The comment period will close on Friday, Jan. 4, 2019 (45 business days after initial posting).
