The 2018 Annual Business Meeting and House of Delegates of the AOA will be held Friday, July 20, through Sunday, July 22, at the Chicago Marriott Downtown Magnificent Mile Hotel.

Resolutions submitted for consideration by the 2018 HOD will be reviewed by the appropriate HOD Reference Committees on Friday, July 20, 2018. The recommendation of each reference committee will be presented to the full HOD for action on Saturday, July 21, and Sunday, July 22, 2018.

Policy Process

Submitting Resolutions

Affiliated organizations of the AOA who have a voting seat in the AOA House of Delegates (HOD) can submit resolutions for consideration by the HOD. Resolutions for consideration by the AOA Board of Trustees must come from an AOA bureau or committee, or can be brought forth based on the request of an elected Board member sponsor.

Resolutions for review and action by the AOA House of Delegates must be submitted no fewer than 30 days prior to the start of the annual business meeting. Resolutions for action by the House of Delegates received late are subject to review by the Rules & Orders of Business House Reference Committee.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

Resolutions for consideration by the 2018 HOD must include an explanation of good cause for delay and will be presented to the HOD Rules and Order of Business reference committee. This committee will determine if the resolution will be considered by the 2018 House of Delegates or if the resolution will be held for consideration by the 2019 House of Delegates.
